Lake Clair

In-between Kirkwood, Candler Park, Druid Hills, and Decatur is Lake Claire. It’s literally in the center of some of today’s most well-known, sought-after intown neighborhoods. That’s one of its secrets. The other is that LAKE Claire doesn’t even have a lake! Likely named for its long-gone garden club founded in the mid-1930’s, residents don’t miss the water. Instead, the neighborhood has plenty of green space, including the Lake Claire Community Land Trust (in the middle of the hood) and a City of Atlanta Park, which are enjoyed by residents and visitors daily.

Homeowners of all shapes and sizes – professionals, artists, and entrepreneurs; young families, empty nesters, and everything in between – love Lake Claire for its eclectic mix of homes. In addition to 1950’s style bungalows and cottages, renovations, and new builds, Lake Clair hosts Georgia’s first co-housing development. The somewhat small community prides itself on being close-knit with an active neighborhood association. In addition to an annual home tour and Halloween parade, the association is involved in city planning and helps maintain Lake Claire Park.
